For the last two decades of its 130-year history, 1309 Hay Street has been home to Julio's Restaurant. Walking through the front door of this magnificent two-storey house and into the dining room, you're met with a very warm reception and treated to some fabulous, honest-to-goodness home cooking. Little wonder then that Julio's has a huge following. Come for a light lunch and relax in the bright and airy dining room. Drop in for dinner and enjoy the intimate ambience. Stop by in winter and warm yourself by the beautiful original fireplaces with a hearty meal. Or saunter in during the summer months and dine alfresco in the delightful garden courtyard.

Just wonderful!!!
The food was fabulous (gnocchi was to die for) and the garlic bread sublime. The staff are fabulous and the owner is so friendly and took the time to speak with us and find out what we thought. It's a little pricey but considering I have had some pretty horendous food here in Perth for not that much cheaper, it was finally wonderful to sit down to a beautiful meal. It is a wonderful restaurant for any occasion, so highly recommended, give it a try.

I had dinner at Julio's last Friday after hearing rave reviews from friends. I was very disappointed, I had better service from the drive through at McDonalds. The waiter was pouring water in our white wine glasses and spilt red wine down my friends dress! It wasn't the kind of service I would expect from a fine dining restaurant. It was disappointing and I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

Really cool place
I had not been to Julio's for a number of years but I found out that there are new owners from a review in the Menu Magazine and I had to go. The service was fantastic and the food was also. Great to see all those old crappy chairs are finally gone. The new owner is sooo young but really nice. He seems very motivated and I will be going back for sure.

Okay food, great service
Food: Three of us had the fettuccine with Morton Bay bugs and we were quite disappointed with it. It was quite plain. Another two had some chicken dish with avocado in it and they were not over enthusiastic about it either. We ordered the rocket and pear salad because it sounded interesting. I had expected something more to it, but that's all there was. Rocket leaves and a few slices of pear with some sauce that only covered a couple of the pear slices.
Service: The waiter was wonderful. He was attentive and polite. He was easy on the eyes and very charming. Later on as we left, we found out he was the chef and the owner! I'd love to have been treated like this at every restaurant I go to.
I might go back and try another dish that was recommended here. It's worth coming back for the service, haha. It was a bit expensive for my budget (I don't know how people do this every year or week).
Atmosphere: Great.

Amazing meal
It was an important lunch as a few staff members were leaving. The Waiter appologized as he was on service by himself. He did an amazing job! The food was of absolute quality. The seafood was so fresh and extremely tasty, while the gents at my table had the lamb, and said it was amazing! The only negative was the atmosphere. There wasn't any music playing so often we were whispering because we were the only ones making noise!
Highly reccommended!

What a find
We surfed our entertainment book and found Julios, what a find. I had the goat, special for that Saturday really good, my wife had the fish of the day and she was also delighted with quality. The service was excellent and the restaurant is set in a beatiful old West Perth home.

Fantastic service!
I can not fault the service, it was gold class. The interior was gorgeous, very tidy and organised. The food however was disappointing. My fettucine was bland, with the Morton Bay bug even missing something. My friend had the gnocchi and that was better but not great. The Greek and caesar side salads were also pretty average. I'm not sure if I would go back for the food but I might just to get the great service again!

Highly Recommend!
As this restaurant is opposite where I work we tend to visit this restaurant quite a bit, for work Christmas functions etc. Every time I have visited Julio's I have had A+++ service & food! Last time I had the Pollo alla Parmigiana which was divine! There are great areas to host functions and perfect spots to sit if you re after a romantic meal. The meals are a little bit more expensive than some other places, but it s worth the money! So if its great food and service you re after, I would definitely recommend this place!
