With a stylish facade consisting of full-length glass windows, high ceilings and a moody grey-black and blue-green colour scheme, Jost 154 is an effortlessly swish addition to the burgeoning South Brisbane dining scene. More importantly, though, this bar-bistro hybrid brings a substantial supply of substance and sustenance across its breakfast, lunch, tapas, coffee and drinks selections.
In the morning, it's all about eggs, pancakes, omelettes and their gourmet accompaniments, as well as the requisite espressos, milkshakes, fresh juices and smoothies. For lunch and dinner, it's more of an Italian affair with pizzas, pastas, risottos, steaks, salads, fish and platters ruling the roost.

Lots of potential
Inexperienced staff has a huge impact on the success of a restaurant.... the only floor staff we saw were Inexperienced with a capital I. Problems taking a simple drink order (ie asking only half the table), leaving dirty dishes on the table multiple times (attracting flies), lack of ability for us to order drinks, forgetting drink orders, bread ordered to nibble on while waiting for mains arrived 5 mins after our mains, almost an hour before meals arrived, incorrect food coming to our table (one of only three tables) - great food, good atmosphere, but atrocious service.
