This culinary venture seems to be causing quite a buzz in the suburb of Fitzroy North, which is understandable considering Michael Smith, former chef of Jacques Reymond, and Bryce Bernhardt, ex-sous chef at Church St Enoteca, are behind the menu.
Stylish concrete floors and industrial light fixtures create an urban-chic look. There's a separate bar area for those who dare take on the monumental wine list, but thankfully the staff are knowledgeable and helpful when it comes time to choose a drop.
Gorgeous European-style share dishes feature on the menu, such as the hot and sour chicken ribs or golden quail with celeriac remoulade, but there's also an excellent list of mains including wet braised lamb with lemon cous cous gratin or the King Jorg whiting baked in pastry, preserved lemon and fennel skordalia. Be sure to leave room for dessert, with decadent offerings like the mouth-watering bitter chocolate and walnut tart or vanilla pannacotta with crumbled biscotti and meringue.
