Making its debut in Nundah in 2009, Jordaan Restaurant & Bar is a unique melange of cuisines and styles, mixing Middle Eastern, Mediterranean and Modern Australian cuisines, and merging a modern cocktail bar with a charmingly classic dining room. After sauntering through the warm red hues of the bar at the entrance, the dining area promises a cosy and intimate sanctuary that's suited to daytime and night-time liaisons alike. A breakfast affair may involve a Mediterranean gypriotto, a hearty dish featuring grilled haloumi cheese on Turkish bread, accompanied by wilted spinach, two poached eggs, roma tomatoes and, naturally, some olive oil and cracked pepper. At lunchtime, sandwiches, salads and kebabs are all the rage, while the evening bewitches with traditional Middle Eastern gems like silverbeet rolls, chicken livers, and lamb backstraps (lahem mishwee).
