When the Eagles and the Dockers get the post-match munchies they use their noodle and head straight for Jimmy's Noodle & Rice in Hay Street's Subiaco Mews. Like many Perthites, they flock to the huge variety of good value, fresh-cooked food and friendly service synonymous with this neat little eatery. Jimmy sadly passed away a few years back, but wife Shirley Cheung, son Preston and business partner Moe Myatt Zaw have kept the business running in his honour - serving up the same intriguing mix of Japanese, Thai, Chinese, Malaysian and Indonesian dishes. Noodles are the most favoured nosh among Jimmy's regulars, with dry as well as soup-based varieties, including the popular kway teow noodles (prawns, chicken, mixed veg and flat white rice noodles stir-fried with fresh chillies, dark sauce and seasonings). Many bring a bottle along with them, but Shirley always keeps the fridge well-stocked with icy-cold beers and offers a small but perfectly formed list of wines available by the glass or bottle.
