The gaudy interior and faux-parquetry floors at this suburban eatery belie the superior Chinese delicacies served up by the kitchen's expert staff. The specialty is duck of many kinds, but in particular, the delicate and flavoursome Nanjing duck, salted and twice-cooked on the bone, and chopped into pieces. The Shanghai soup dumplings are also a hit with regulars, and are filled with pork mince and shallot and a soupy, messy broth. Locals say the yu xiang eggplant is not to be missed, but with a menu almost 200 dishes long, there's plenty here to come back for next time.
