Packed in like sardines
I truly do not know why anyone can find anything redeeming about Java apart from the fact that it was one of the first cafes in Yarraville. The food is just ordinary, the service is so slow, even when they are not too busy. The most annoying part is that seating is packed in so close to each table that there is no privacy and you can overhear everyone's conversations.

A long wait....
I stopped by Java Cafe in Yarraville today for lunch with a friend - good prices and a cute location. I had to wait over half an hour for my (simple breakfast) order, which was quite a wait - considering they weren't very busy and considering my friends order arrived 15 minutes before mine did, even though I ordered before he did. I don't think I'll be back here for a meal - maybe only a coffee next time.

Fabulous range of cakes, nice atmosphere
Cafe Java is one of my favourites in Yarraville. The cafe/restaurant is open for lunch and early dinner but I mainly go there for coffee and cake. Their range of cakes is very good and changes regularly. Cafe Java is situated right next to the fabulous Sun Theatre and many people get their fix before or after seeing a movie.
The atmosphere is cosy and intimate, the outside section is often full and the service is laid-back and friendly. Cafe Java really epitomises the Yarraville feel, it's a great cafe in a great location.
