Jasmin Indian Restaurant

Hidden downstairs at Hindmarsh Square is this haven of soft lighting, dark timber and Tom Gleghhorn landscapes, dotted with linen-clothed tables and comfortable chairs. The north Indian dishes are familiar, though owners Jasbeer and Anant Singh Sandhu raise them above the ordinary by paying close attention to sourcing high-quality ingredients (Jasbeer travels to a Singaporean spice mill to oversee the blending of the spices), and chef Anant demonstrates her well-executed cooking, for which she has won a number of awards. Jasmin is a family affair and their son Amrik works the floor, completing the triumvirate. Thirsty oenophiles will be thankful of this restaurant's longevity, as Jasmin has managed to accumulate more than 40 vintages of cellared wines since 1980, augmenting the already extensive regular list.

How could anyone ever not like this place?
I read a review of someone who did not like this restaurant. All I can say is they better eat at home in the future. Jasmin is an absolute stunner... food, atmosphere and the best service I have ever experienced in Australia. Can not wait for a return trip. Just wish they opened for lunch everyday as I prefer lunch out rather than dinner.

Beautiful ambiance and food
This is an absolutely beautiful restaurant. Low lighting and lovely decor make this a place to remember. The service is impeccable.

This is undoubtedly the best Indian restaurant in Adelaide. My friends and I have been going for many years. Great for a special occasion and usually booked out on a sat night.

The new 'feed me menu' (degustation) is amazing, so much food and excellent value.

The food is wonderful, so many beautiful delicate flavours and always of a very high standard. I'm a lover of Indian food and for me this would have to be one of the best in Australia.

Not for Vegetarians
Jasmin is still over-rated. I think people who don't know or understand Indian food think it's great - that's how it established its reputation. Oh, and if you're a vegetarian - it's really the thali or nothing for you.

Valentine's Day
The food was beautiful. Unfortunately the service was very average because it was Valentine's Day and the poor waiter was run off his feet, also because of the lack of tables we had to sit outside so it was impossible to gauge what the atmosphere in the actual restaurant is like but it does look very nice.
