Not quite a thongs-and-sunnies kind of place, Jah Bar goes for a funky feel in its laneway locale, finding its own way to cool down Manly locals and friends on those scorching hot beach days and balmy evenings.
As a wine and tapas bar, this venue's international flavours appear in the selection of Argentinean, Chilean, French, Kiwi and Australian wines, as well as the Spanish and Basque tapas-style cuisine, which pleasures the palate with ingredients such as chorizo, calamari, olives, haloumi cheese and jamon serrano. For more substantial Spanish fare, traditional Spanish paella is one of the myriad mains alongside the chicken, beef or cheese empanadas cooked in front of patrons in an open kitchen. A glass - or jug - of sangria is a wise addition to the Jah Bar dining experience.

Jah Bar does the best tapas in Manly....by a long long way!
In fact, this is the best tapas or spanish joint i've been to in Sydney..(yes..that also includes bodega)...its great, its awesome, the staff are cute, the wine list is reasonable and interesting, the food is fabulous and tasty, if I was looking for the downsides of this place, its located on a back street so the view isn't a winner, (but the rear courtyard is really inviting and nice) and the service is more relaxed and chilled than fine dining style. Good enough to earn a repeat visit

Great food, shame about the service
Yes it was a busy Sat night but we had the rudest waiter I've ever experienced - and I've lived in France! He slammed everything on the table, didn't crack a smile once, and barked answers at our questions. Oh well, he stuffed up the order and gave us a few extra dishes accidentally. We didn't comment, scared to be barked at for bothering him.

Yah for the Jah
As a Manly local I am surprised to stumble upon a restaurant that has been open for almost 5 months now and I didn't even know!! This tapas bar takes me back to my backpacking days through spain, so chilled and friendly. My girl and I always sit at the bar in front of the open kitchen and are forever entertained by the chefs in front of us. I am a wine lover and these guys deliver, red wine, all by the glass from all regions of the world. Manly has definitely gained something with the addition of this restaurant.
