The Grill

With the windows flung wide open to maximise the view of Sorrento Quay's azure waters, the ultra-chilled ambience here is likely to induce a state of complete relaxation. Even the interior has been thoughtfully designed to create a clutter-free oasis of calm with contemporary earthy hues, bamboo screens and solid redwood floors. The innovative modern Australian food begins with breakfast, moving through to varied lunch and dinner menus packed with seafood, salads and, of course, steaks.

Never again
What a disapointment The Grill was. The food was badly presented and dull. The service was very poor and the addition of a telvision in the restaurant gave it the ambience of a pub. I found myself looking with envy at the people in the fish and chip shop nearby, at least they got value for their money.

Best steak
What a change! We were expecting Jade but now called the Grill. We all had steak except one who had lamb shanks. The steaks were cooked just right and all washed down with a nice bottle of red from Margaret River!

Good Wine.
The table settings and view were lovely, the restaurant had a nice ambience.

The menu had a fair amount of variety, but the flavours in the meals were quite bland.

I love a restaurant that puts desserts on the main menu so I can plan my meal backwards if I fall in love with a dessert. Not doing this was a downfall; and makes a dessert a tag-on item rather than a course in its own right.

Great View
Food is good and the service is a real plus. This place is easliy the best for dinner in Hillarys. Limited menu but diverse enough for most to find something to enjoy. Worth a visit.

Last out the door
Fantastic service was the highlight of our night out, starting with the waiter who did card tricks to keep our earlybird friend company, while she waited for the rest of us to turn up.
Food very nice, nothing too creamy or greasy, all arrived in good time and piping hot. It's not Asian style, as one might assume from the 'Jade' and the slightly Oriental decor.
Some dishes on the menu not available (always disappointing). But apologies from waiter accepted. We paid out bill and the manager let us stay as long as we wanted while he did his paperwork in the office.
