The pedigree of Neal Jackson's classical training is clearly evident in the food at his eponymous restaurant. The menu is modern Australian but with strong European foundations. The house speciality - duck - is not to be missed. The surroundings are simple yet chic, with white tablecloths and fine silverware. Vegetarians are also well-catered with their own separate menu. Understated, but very elegant, the intimate ambience is perfect for a romantic supper. Be prepared for an indulgent and expensive night out.

Serious good food, amazing wine and beautiful smile
It was a wonderful evening at Jackson's.A tasty and well balanced degustation. I always go back there without hesitation, this is a consistent restaurant in term of quality.Last week we had something more:the same beautiful and genuine smile from our champagne to my credit card signature.A great waitperson is so important during a 3 hours dego meal and we were lucky that night, everybody at our table was impressed by the professionalism of our waitress. The restaurant was full, but dish after dish we had an acurate description of it,a nice word and a beautiful smile. The sommelier is also amazing,a great knowledge, and so charming( I still disagree with him on some Bordeaux ) but it s good to talk to someone who knows about wine!!! We will be back soon, for sure. Thank you Mr Jackson and Thank you Mr sommelier

Baffled....
Jackson's is the type of restuarant that you have to try for that special occasion. I left last night somewhat baffled. The service was impeccable and attentive but very clinical and I found that the dining room was more confined than cosy and rowdy than intimate. I found it highly unusual for a restaurant of this calibre that I could see the staff washing the dishes next to the kitchen and the storeroom left wide open as you approach the toilets. The scallops were by far the best I had ever eaten and the oysters so fresh but the squid was very disappointing for $29. Quite literally two slabs of watermelon hiding 3 of the smallest squid tubes with some fresh mint sandwiched between. The flavours combined beautifully but I did not order a plate of watermelon for an entree. Still overall we enjoyed a good night but I'd of been just as happy and know what to expect at Must next door.

Simply sublime
The food was absolutely amazing, every mouthful was a taste sensation. The decor was modern, luxurious and fashionable.
The only negative factors were the tables were a little close together in this small restaurant and the atmosphere a little noisy - however the food more than made up for it - it was simply sublime. We went for our wedding anniversary (they asked if it was a special occasion when we booked) and a nice individual, personal touch was the writing of 'Happy Anniversary' on the edges of our dessert plates. This has got to be one of the best restaurants in Perth.

Dego...Jacksons is thy name
Having now done the dego (or degustation) at Jacksons, I feel I have reached the top (in WA anyway) of gastronomical delights.
The dego is absolutely sensational. With the degos, there are two to choose from, the two vary in terms of the wine that accompanies each course. We went with the premium selection.
When we arrived we were greeted with the upmost sincerity and friendliness by the sommelier. It set the course for the evening. The sommelier has chosen a truly unique wine list, mainly from France for each dish. The food, oh the food! Every dish I swear was the best I have tasted to date, the dish named "All of the Duck" and the Vanilla Rock Lobster with Pork Belly & Whiskey Sauce was to truly die for.
The seven courses were tremendous, upstaged by the tremendous service. The detailed knowledge of each wine before the courses were served was such a fantastic part of the experience.
I have done the dego at other fine dining restaurants, the food here was beyond reproach and the service unequalled.

You may get restaurants with better views but I haven't come across any other restaurant in any state with better food. Although Grossi Florentino in Melbourne came close.
