Itsara

Itsara is the kind of place all prospective Thai restaurant owners wish theirs to be, with authentic recipes, modern decor and genuinely warm service that could only come from the Land of Smiles.

The menu is extensive in and of itself, comprehensively covering the full gamut of regional Thai cuisine, but its true genius is in its versatility. Those with dietary requirements, vegans, vegetarians and plain old chilli wimps are all deftly accommodated without a hitch - a sure sign that the chef knows his cooking back to front and everything is prepared fresh to order.

Itsa facto
So I had been wanting to try Itsara as I have recently moved to the area, dine out a lot and LOVE Thai food.
I decided to order some take-away. When I picked up my red beef curry (in my view the deciding dish as to whether a Thai restaurant is good or not) I was surprised that for one dish w rice it was over $25. I am happy to pay well for fine food - so I took my bag home ready to eat what was stated to be "the best curry I'll eat".
When I got home I eagerly sat down to my meal. However, I was staggered to find the curry container was 1/3 full and there were only 3 tablespoons of rice in the other container!
The food tasted nice and the beef was tender; but the food wasn't "the best curry" I'd ever had and not even the best I've had in Perth.
All in all if you want a nice curry Itsara is fine. If you want a nice curry at a fair price and a quantity of food that isn't taking the micky Itsara is not fine.
Up to you... Me? I won't be returning.
