Taking over from the Golden Sands Restaurant that served up countless meals to patrons of the Sands and Maroubra locals, this family-friendly bistro changes tack by offering hearty, traditional Italian meals.
Gone are the "Westernised" Chinese meals. In their stead Islands now serves up a tempting range of gourmet pizzas, pastas and steaks. The special Maroubra Beach pizza will be hard to go past for seafood lovers, but be sure to save room for some traditional gelato to finish off your Mediterranean meal.
