You will be taken by the good quality napery and cutlery and the rows and rows of bottles of wine that take up every nook and cranny. Top quality Italian fare
Being of Italian descent, I am particularly fussy about Italian restaurants. While Melbourne has a huge number of Italian restaurants, few of them serve food that I would describe as decent Italian fare. I and my Italian friend from Padua were far from disappointed.
The squid ink and calamari risotto was cooked perfectly, as was the pasta with ricotta, zucchini, peas and mint. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the pannacotta. Served with berry jelly, fresh berries and balsamic vinegar, it was positively likened to a certain R-rated activity.
The service was quick, efficient and friendly and even with an entree, a bottle of wine and coffees, the bill was reasonable. I would definitely return and would not hesitate in taking other Italian visitors with me.
