After several years behind the pass at The Wine Bar, chef/owner Tony Kelly has expanded his empire, testing his talents with a more casual second restaurant. Il Secondo is often described as 'rustic', but this is not a euphemism for 'rough around the edges'; rather, the restaurant borrows equally from the glossy style of its fine-dining sibling and the homely trattorias of Italy. Kelly's reputation prompts high expectations of the food, but there's no fine-dining trickery - just simple and authentic Italian cuisine. Pasta and pizza are the high points of the menu, as they use handmade dough which is made on-site daily.
