If the rustic wooden tables, open brick walls and bench-style seating didn't give it away, then the welcoming menu will: this restaurant is all about tradition. With options such as cold and hot antipasti, stromboli pizza, veal parmigiana, fried scallops, homemade gnocchi and fresh lasagne, it's hardly surprising that locals find this place a refreshing retreat from other high-end eateries in the area. For the ravenous, the large mixed seafood platter, which can be shared between friends, will hit the spot.

VIRGIN TO LYGON STREET.....I WANT MORE!!!
We walked in and we were greeted with a smile and welcome reserved for old friends. The waiter we had was brilliant, funny, and good for a laugh. Great atmosphere, if I could have I would have licked the plate. I had, chicken with prawns, avocado and a brandy cream sauce, my wife had tiger prawns and scallops, when you are in town, try this place. Looking forward to our next visit.

Disagree
I couldn't disagree more with other reviews. Food was very mediocre borderline terrible. They don't cater for big groups well. Seems to be many young staff lurking around doorway but nowhere near the tables when you want their attention. Don't go for the set menu at all accounts, in fact just go elsewhere.

Fabulous atmosphere - my favourite on Lygon
Fantastic pizza, pasta, everything. Cheaper meals than others on Lygon, and still come with bread serving unlike the seeming movement to phase the bread out! The staff are very friendly and it has the most fantastic warm atmosphere in it, with a very cosy second room which is great for winter nights.

Always consistent
My partner and I go here at least once a week. The pizzas are not thick and sloppy like many others... just right. Service is always friendly and we have never been kept waiting too long. One of the really good traditional pizza restaurants on Lygon St.
