A Family Affair
We have been going to Il ciao for a very long time and have seen it is simply fantastic. As another person has mentioned in their review, once you are recognised as a regular you are spoilt rotten. They would have to make the best PENNE ALLA VODKA in Perth and their MUSSELS & PIZZA"s are outstanding. Very few restaurants have a full house on weekdays let alone a lineup of hungry patrons prepared to stand & wait for a table. Yes it can be very noisy, especially when large tables arrive and take ownership of the whole venue...But get there early enough and you'll get the best service without waiting for a table and be on your way home when the lineup starts.
Well done Il Ciao!!!

Long time regular
I have been visiting this restaurant on a regular basis for at over 10 years and the food is always excellent. The favourites can be ordered even if not on the menu. On occasion, service can be hit and miss dependant upon night but more times than not, service is excellent. You will probably have to wait for a table and if you are one of those who "refuse to queue" then it is your loss. Regulars are treated like family and I have often commented to OH how "newbies" could feel left out but persevere. If you become a regular, the experience only gets better.

Disappointing
We really thought the parmigiana was tough and came out too cold. The garlic bread was full of butter and the pasta was over cooked. It took ages to get served and had to wait a long time to eat too.

Best Italian in Perth
We found this little gem a about 4 years ago and have never looked back. I've been to almost every Italian restaraunt in Perth and this wins hands down. The pastas are delicious and very reasonably priced as are the woodfired pizzas. The service is attentive and quick (we are in and out within an hour usually). You can't book so make sure you're early especially on the weekends as from about 7pm onwards there is a line out the door...this just shows how good it is in the fact that people are willing to wait to eat there. It is a small, cosy restaurant which can sometimes get a bit noisy but this is very easy to look past. I would highly recommend it (I'll probably regret saying that as more and more people will start going!)
