The name of this popular modern bistro might at first appear to be the product of an over-inflated ego, but makes more sense when you consider the location. Icons is situated beneath the Story Bridge - Brisbane's own iconic structure. The bistro itself has a place in the hearts of Kangaroo Pointers, who come here for pizzas and modern Australian cuisine in a chic yet understated setting.

A great little find
Recently stayed in Kangaroo Point on a business trip and took a chance on a little eatery on Main. It looked a little basic - more cafe than restaurant - and had just two tables worth of patrons at 7.30pm on a weeknight. However, I took a seat and by the time my entree arrived, the place was nearly full. Food was excellent. Had a lamb skewer to start, which was grilled to tender, lip-smacking perfection. For main had the pumpkin and goat cheese pizza and a side salad of rocket and parmesan. Everything was nicely prepared - simple but flavourful. Was impressed by the plates going out to the other tables with some of the fancier mains too. A single waitstaff was gracious, but run off her feet, poor thing. Would definitely try again. Even worth the ferry ride from the city.
