Great setup, food wildly inconsistent.
First off, the good - excellent setup, really great space. Someone has obviously spent a fair amount of money doing it up. I love those Dyson Blades! Although, the bathroom layout would seem to indicate the washing of hands isn't a focus for someone using the trough, only the stalls...but I digress.

A good array of beer on tap and bottled, reasonable wine list. A little on the pricey side, but not too bad.

When the Antipasto plate was delivered, at first I thought someone was playing a joke. The menu describes it as "Antipasto Platter - prosciutto, salami, terrine, olives, dips and marinated grilled vegetables with turkish bread". The abomination that was presented consisted of what appeared to be turkey breast, pork, roast beef, tomato salsa & olives straight from the deli section of the Coles Supermarket up the road. Combined with what appeared to be spolied salami from the same source (off colour, slimy) and a scattering of roasted vegetables. Throw a couple of anchovies on top to overpower everything else on the plate and away you go. I couldn't eat it, my wife managed to eat some of the vegetable items, which she paid the price for later. Expressing outrage between courses is fraught with danger, so we moved on.

Main course - the Linguine & the Fillet were both perfectly acceptable though. Pasta cooked properly, the mash accompanying the steak quite nice as well. Nothing awe inspiring, but a perfectly reasonable meal. Describing the pasta as "substantial" is probably a stretch.

So, loads of potential here - awesome space, some cooking ability (although the Pineapple & Lychee sauce accompanying the Bug Ravioli makes me wonder). You just need to be careful what you order I guess.

Excellent service and a great atmosphere
I had my birthday drinks here on a Sunday at 3pm. The events organiser blocked off a section of a group of 35 and we had pre-organised and pre-paid food and drinks.

When we arrived everything was set up and ready to go. We had a waitress to take care of everyone and it ran extremely well. We ordered several seafood, meat and cheese platters for starters, then a selection of pizzas and calimari for 'mains'. The food was brought out at the time we'd asked and met with rave review, particularly the pizzas!

I think this place is fantastic. It feels like you're outside because of the great open space but it has a great relaxed atmosphere. You wouldn't go there for a big noisy night but if you're looking for a cruisy, casual afternoon drinks, I would highly recommend it.

An Icy Experience
A small group of us dined at Ice Works on a balmy Halloween night and I must say that our dining experience at Ice Works was very icy indeed. I ordered a glass of white wine and my drink was served in a very large wine glass which wasn't even filled to half way and they had the cheek to charge me $10 for it!

Our meals were appalling. My husband and our friends ordered the beer-battered fish and chips ($26.00) which consisted of six small chips and three very small pieces of perch (NOT barramundi as stated on their menu). My calamari ($22.00) was very chewy.

All the meals were very overpriced considering the lack of quality and quantity in the meals provided.I do not rate this place at all! My work was going to hold their Christmas party here, however they changed their minds very quickly after I informed them of my icy experience at Ice Works. Thank God they gave us toothpicks to pick our teeth for a feed.
