Towering over the surfers below and with wraparound Tasman Sea vistas, Icebergs has Bondi's - and arguably one of the world's - best restaurant views. And with a fab clientele that's painfully sexy, it would be impossible to focus on the food if it wasn't nearly as stunning - and it is (as are the prices).
Freshly grilled, Mediterranean-style fare is the main event, with an obvious highlight being the whole roasted suckling pig on fresh bay leaves served with grilled peppers - well worth getting seven of your friends together for.

Not Quite Nigella - "There’s very little that can go wrong with a view like this. The view uninterruptus from Icebergs has got to be one of the most iconic Sydney vistas, that of Bondi beach."

Great Atmosphere; Poor Service
Being our first and only time in Sydney, I wanted to take my girlfriend to a nice romantic dinner overlooking the ocean. When we showed up at Ice Berg a hostess told us that there were openings and we should wait for someone else to put us on the list for dinner. When someone finally showed up they looked as us thinking we were some kids who didn't have any money to spend on drinks and a decent dinner. We were told they had no openings even when the place was completely empty. After talking to someone else we finally got a table but were told that we couldn't stay for longer than 45 minutes. We took the table to spite them and to prove a point. When they realized we were actually spending a decent amount of money they told us we could keep the table for as long as we would like. I posted this review to warn younger couples that you may be looked down upon and treated unfairly. Hopefully someone on the staff will read this post and correct the stereotyping of younger couples!

Too bad you can't just go for the view
My wife and I went back here again recently to give it a second chance after a terrible first experience - there won't be a third time.
The food was average at best and the wait service was terrible. I had a grilled Barramundi which was overcooked and dry. My wife's seafood pasta was undercooked and we struggled to find any seafood. Fortunately, the bread was tasty and we had enjoyed the calamari entree so that saw us through the meal!!
The only reason to go here is the view but we'd recommend lunch to get the best impact.

Beautiful spot
The food is great, the wine is great and the staff attentive and friendly, but it's very stiff! The lounge bar area is much better (if only they had better food in that area). Overall it is a great experience and as a local I love it, even just for a Sunday arvo drink.

Wrong order plus flubbed flounder = cannot recommend
Saturday night we went to Icebergs for dinner, in Bondi Beach. While my partner's meal was wonderful, my main was just plain awful. First, the waiter got the order wrong; then when it came, the flounder was undercooked. Plus it was immature - not a very sustainable practice. Finally, the waiter had attitude about the whole thing.
On the plus side, the entrees were good - I had the buffalo mozzarella with artichoke hearts, and my partner had a wonderful risotto nero.
Still, when both the waiter screws up AND the chef screws up, it's clear that there are better places to go to eat.

Disappointed
First time and definitely the last. The restaurant's location, wonderful as it was, didn't compensate for the poor service we received. We waited 20 minutes in the bar before having our drinks order taken, and were seated in the restaurant 30 minutes later than our booked time. The waiter was extremely slow to take our order and we didn't commence eating until 11 p.m. We didn't order dessert for fear we'd be consuming it for breakfast! As a result of the poor service we left the restaurant feeling disgruntled.

Well done!
Muchogusto must have picked a bad night. Wednesday night - jackets hung and we were seated. Great service, great food, ovenbaked whole snapper magnificent. Timing was perfect and atmosphere was relaxing thoroughly enjoyed a blaser from the bar and affogato on the couch. Will be back. Well done Icebergs.

Food is excellent, but
First time here and was a little let down. As the last poster noted, the food was outstanding, but service was rather lacking. We waited ages for our table and then, once seated, waited ages for food to arrive. Was falling asleep in my plate by the time mains were cleared, and too exhausted to stick around for dessert. Maybe the kitchen was just running slow or maybe they were hoping we would order a second bottle of wine in the meantime, but the waitstaff seemed to have a lot of attitude and were less than gracious. The food was lovely, but the quality of service really diminished the experience.

Food was excellent
Tuesday night and the place was packed so obviously the chefs are performing. Menus were great with many options, add in the specials and the choosing was that much harder. Food was excellent as was the wine and recommend the Ox fillet to all. Atmosphere was poor as seated in the main passageway - sitting near windows would be better. Service was fine but slightly below what you expect from 2 chef hats.
