There's a hurricane on Darling Harbour, and it's whipping diners into a culinary frenzy on the foreshore. While not quite a freak of nature, Hurricane's Grill & Bar serves sinfully salacious steaks, rockin' ribs, and premium pork to anyone with half a stomach for carnivorous consumption. Following the flagship Hurricane's at Bondi Beach, this South African steakhouse draws the crowds with its prime cuts of Australian beef, pork and lamb ribs and chicken, as well as seafood, burgers and vegetarian bites. If that's not enough to sweep you up, then the expansive harbour views should do the trick. Close to numerous local attractions such as the Sydney Aquarium and the Powerhouse Museum, Hurricane's is quite the powerhouse indeed.

Waiting time -don't go there unless you're booking for at least 8 people!
If you ask for a table for 2 people you will have to wait for eternity, because a table for at least 4 people will always have priority over you!!!!
Firstly the food was great -I ordered a pork rib. Secondly, the atmosphere was superb, the dim flaming lights and the view overlooking Cockle Bay. However, I was bitterly disappointed with the service. My partner and I went to Hurricane. When we arrived we were met by the receptionist who indicated to me that I would have to wait between 20-30 minutes. That was fine. We waited in queue. As we waited, I noticed that other people were arriving and also having to wait. To my surprise and agitation I noticed that people who arrived in groups of at least 4 people or more were invited to a table even though I had arrived earlier. And certainly a group of 8+ people had first rate priority in terms of being seated. Unfortunately, it became obvious to me that it was all about "bums-on-seat" and the profit line. Yes, I can understand that they have to pay their employees, high rent, and other overheads, but it sure did diminish our evening. After, waiting almost 1 hour (and seeing larger groups taking priority) I finally took a deep breath and politely confronted the receptionist. It was only after that was i immediately invited to a table.
