It's always comforting to know exactly what you can expect from a restaurant just from reading the sign. There are no allusions to people you haven't heard of, books you haven't read or pop culture references you're not cool enough to know. If you want Czech food and you're very hungry, this is where you come to eat. Simple as that.
As one would expect there are truckloads of dumplings and lashings of goulash, but why not branch out a little? The menu opens with a selection of "beer lover's delights" (another coup for the tell-it-like-it-is crowd), including homemade presswurst, Polish sausage and potato pasta. For rib-sticking mains, tuck in to a smoked pork steak with all the trimmings, or if you can, order ahead and get the slow roast duck with red cabbage and potato.
