Houghton Cafe

If you love West Australian wines, you'd no doubt be familiar with Houghton wine ranges like The Bandit, Wisdom and Jack Mann. Situated in the Swan Valley, "Western Australia's most-awarded winery" offers a cellar door experience filled with bubbly enjoyment for all, especially since you can buy your sparkling then and there, and sip it slowly at the on-site Houghton Cafe. The share plates are the way to go if you like a little bit of this and that, and you can choose from various platters matched carefully to your selected drop. Among the lighter options is a chickpea and tomato braise for those with gluten-free, vegan and lactose-free diets.

Mother's Day 2010
Our family booked a table underneath the vines for 6 adults and 3 children for mother's day. We found the staff very helpful, informative and pleasant to deal with both on the phone and on our arrival. I recommend getting the Bandit Platter which is excellent value. All diets were easily catered for (as grandma is gluten intolerant) and were informed everything was made fresh in-house. Staff were all well informed and could answer any concerns with the menu. The mum's were all extremely happy with their day and were quite cheerful after a glass or two. Can't wait to go back.
