Midway between the CBD's coffee shops and Subi's cafe strip are Hay Street's most meticulous baristas. They've mastered more than just the realm of the coffee machine. They're pretty handy with a juicer - squeezing, blending and mixing a refreshing range of 10 different juices, eight icy-cool frappes and nine sensational smoothies. In the tiny galley kitchen, they bake fresh friands and muffins daily and prepare a toothsome array of gourmet salads, sandwiches, pizzas, frittatas and rustic homestyle soups. The pistachio-green menu board behind the counter lists the lunch treats of the day - anything from fresh spicy couscous salad to Italian sausage and potato fritters with tomato relish.
