Being a new bar built from scratch, Honey enjoys the ability to define its own space, a luxury of which the current owners have taken full advantage.
From its wood-panelled bar that runs the length of the L-shaped room to the rendered concrete touches, Honey has a glow about it that at once contemporary yet comforting. Cream-coloured walls bathed in a soft amber light (note the lack of a pun about honey-coloured walls) give a nice warm ambience to the bar and contrast well with the starkness of some sections.
The fare on offer at Honey is similarly balanced. Smaller plates comes in ample supply for those after some grazing, while more substantial meals are ready at hand if needed. Menu options stick mostly in the tried and tested pub fare bracket - the beef burger is a great example of simple pub grub done well - with a few inclusions, like the eggplant and pumpkin tagine, to keep punters on their toes.
