Things look grim when you first enter the daggy confines of the Hellenic Club, but once you exit the elevator on the fifth floor, you're treated to a bright, modern dining room with grassy views of Hyde Park (especially if you can snag a window seat). Welcome to the home of Sydney's "3rd-oldest restaurant", a hidden treasure that serves all things traditional Greek: from moussaka to roasted lamb, casseroles and seafood. The food is more comfortable than flash, and - despite the not-too-distant renovations - the service and ambience somehow retain their old-school charm.
