This new addition to the Applecross dining scene is causing a stir for its amazing vegetarian and vegan meals with a modern Asian twist and its gorgeously decadent, French provincial-style interior. Finally, it seems, someone in Perth is putting real effort into not only the production of vegetarian cuisine that goes beyond the usual veggie burgers and tofu dishes but the presentation of a vegetarian restaurant that can be sophisticated, fashionable and on par with many up-market eateries.
The food is mostly Asian-inspired and includes the already extremely popular spaghetti green curry, dried wonton with organic soba noodles and some great mock-meat dishes, such as chicken with cashew nuts. As a cafe, this is a lovely spot to come for a quick coffee and treat and serves as a good introduction to the joys of meat-free food for the vegetarian-wary; there's an all-embracing, accessible vibe here that means vegos and nonvegos alike can feel comfortable and welcome. The attached gift shop offers homewares and gifts in perfect keeping with the style of the place, so if you admired the fit-out, you can take a bit of it home with you.
