Situated in one of Brisbane's cafe and bar meccas is Harvey's. The story of Harvey's is a long but successful one, wrapped up in film lore and great bistro-style food. Since taking the Harvey reigns in early 2007 - from the previous owners of the same name - owner and Chef PJ McMillan has made this Brunswick Street Queenslander a much-frequented eatery.
The uncomplicated semi-toned interior is interrupted by minimal elements of pattern and colour. The large blackboard menu holds aspects of McMillan's trademark cheffing and relaxed cuisine, learned under the guidance of one of Australia's most celebrated chefs, Philip Johnson. There is little fuss and flutter here, just honest cuisine served efficiently in comfortable contemporary surrounds.

Gourmet Travller 2009 Australian Restaurant Guide - "Good food pulls a crowd, and in this relaxed, casual spot, the breakfast mob turns into light lunchers who then give way to diners chasing a substantial feed."
