A horizontally mounted bright red bicycle hails passersby, beckoning them to stop by this unassuming eatery which, in keeping with the theme, sports an eclectic display of road signage and cycling memorabilia among its interiors. It's clear that this cosy new addition to Inkerman Street is a little cycling obsessed, and cyclists should feel right at home.
The menu stays in the realm of traditional cafe fare (more or less), though if there were an official cycling cuisine there'd be little doubt as to what this charming diner would be churning out of the kitchen. As it is, soups, home-style baked treats, brekkie staples, quiches and sausage rolls make the cut. The impressive pide selection make up a hefty portion of the more interesting menu additions, with items such as the breakfast spiced avocado and ricotta stack (on toasted pide with lemon, pink salt and sumac), and the humble tuna pide (with Spanish onion, mayo, tomato, baby spinach and Swiss cheese). Occasionally, diners will be fortunate enough to find the owner's Japanese background creeping into the daily specials menu, with Japanese pancakes, curries and soba noodle salads featuring.
