The Harbour View Hotel occupies one of the beautiful heritage buildings that litter The Rocks. Thankfully it was renovated in 2002, so one can enjoy the historic surroundings without sitting atop a hundred years worth of beer stained carpet. The other big drawcard of the Harbour View is, well, the harbour view, obviously. The outlook encompasses the bustling ferry traffic on the water and the grey-suited bridge climbers starting their labourious journey up the Harbour Bridge. Much better to be looking on from the comfort of the hotel, enjoying a glass of wine and some quality nibbles. Harbour View does hearty mod-Oz meals at lunch and dinner, and the bar menu does not stop with the ubiquitous fries, but includes a range of full meals all day.
