Housed in a cute little weatherboard cottage tacked onto the side of Footscray's community art centre, this cafe is about as family-friendly as you can get. The huge lawn outside is a perfect spot for the young 'uns to run wild (and grown-ups too, if that's what floats your boat) while a box full of rugs and cushions means it's also popular for lounging around in the sunshine in peace. The breakfast and lunch menus are full of classic, hearty cafe fare, much of which, it's always nice to know, is local, organic, made in-house or otherwise somehow wholesome and good.
