The Alice Springs incarnation of Jimmy Shu's lauded restaurant is just as impressive as the Darwin original. Shu hit on a winner with his distinctive combination of Thai, Indian and Nonya cuisine crafted with a Top End twist, and fans will find many of their favourites replicated on the menu here.
The menu is great for sharing, but beware: you may want to keep such dishes as the massaman curry to yourself. The meat in this dish is melt-in-your-mouth tender and masterfully flavoured with a blend of cardamom, cinnamon and bay leaves. It's served in a clay pot, brimming with coconut milk to pour over the light and fluffy steamed rice. Other highlights on the menu include the signature oysters with lemongrass and sweet basil; or the uniquely Territory taste of camel tenderloins with a lime, lemongrass and mint dressing.
The high-class dining experience continues with slick Asian-style decor and fresh produce sourced from around the country. The service is excellent with the staff always attentive - a real challenge in this transient town. Although this is one of the pricier restaurants in town, it's definitely worth the investment.

For a meal that won't disappoint!
A great allrounder - Hanumans never disappoints with either service or food. Even when packed to the rafters (it often is - so I advise booking in advance!)the food is delivered in a timely fashion and simply put is divine!
The cocktails are pretty amazing as well, and the wine list is quite impressive! Some might talk about the cost (it is a little pricier than other Alice Springs fare) but with food and service like this - it's worth every cent!

One of our favourites
Hanuman is the default restaraunt we go to when we want a grown-up's dinner. The food is always top-notch and we have been working our way through the wine list for some time now. We've never been disappointed by the service or the meals, and that is why we keep going back. As for the price - who cares? If you want good food with good service and great company, what does the cost matter?
