Restaurant Information
Hannibal
Pay no attention to the unfortunate connotations of this outstanding restaurant's name, the Lebanese fare is predominantly vegetarian, with only a few meat dishes featuring chicken, lamb or beef (honestly, there are no people on the menu). The best way to experience the diversity of the cuisine is to order a banquet, either pure vegetarian, or one with a little of everything, which include the deliciously crunchy pumpkin kebbe, lightly fried and filled with spinach and chickpeas; and the ladies' fingers (once again, ignore the name), which are actually flaky filo pastry wrapped around seasoned lamb, onions and pine nuts. The exotically decorated restaurant, with wall-to-wall (and floor-to-ceiling) Persian rugs, dim lighting and interesting trinkets all over the place, is also visited every Friday and Saturday night by professional belly dancers, which add even more colour and culture to the already fantastic atmosphere.
