Il Padrino
I think the Godfather must have taken over this establishment because it is a vast improvement since last I visited.
I had the best fish meal for a long time. Although the orange ruffy on the menu had been replaced by blue eye Cod, the combination with crisp prosciutto and orange gel was absolutely delicious and personally delivered by the chef.
Service was friendly and helpful by people who obviously enjoyed what they were doing.
The atmosphere is much brighter and fresher than I remember, also suggesting regime change. I will be going back soon with a group of friends

Used to be a lot better
I have been to the Haig on several occasions and have always found the food and service to be excellent. Not this time.
We arrived and were seated. It took about 15 minutes for a drinks order to be taken.
Our meal orders were then taken. Two minutes later, another staff member tries to take the order. And again a few minutes after that.
Bread and drinks came within a good time. Bread was fantastic!
Then we wait for mains......and wait......and wait.
It took about an hour. When they came, the waiter says "whos is this?". So, I pretend I don't know what the meal is and ask him what it is. He peers at it then says "it looks like it has prawns in it".
THe meals were pretty average. Seafood marinara with very little substance, pasta with stale prawns and a dry chicken breast.
Then, the worst coffee I have ever tasted.
No offer of desserts or dessert menus.
Overall a very average night. Has been better so I may go back but....
