Hidden away in Circular Quay along with some of Sydney's most overpriced tourist traps, Haemil is like a shining light, a rose among thorns. Excellent value for money and good, clean Korean food (as well as being relatively undiscovered) make this an exception to the rule and a reason to keep coming back to the quay.
The spicy baby octopus and ginseng chicken are mind-blowing, as is the spicy fish roe stew. The owner, Joshua Kwak, can often be found entertaining his guests playing classical music on the piano, which all adds to the intimate, friendly vibe at this place. A true hidden gem, Haemil means "clear sky after the rain" - and that's exactly how you'll leave this place feeling.
