In typical Melburnian fashion, this new Richmond cafe takes its obscure name from a pair of Tasmanian bushrangers from way back when it was known as Van Diemen's Land (no, it's not a typo). It may sound like an abstract reference at first but in actual fact it gives an insight into what to expect from this cafe.
The Australiana theme is continued on the menu, with native Australian ingredients given pride of place. Expect to see Tasmanian leatherwood honey, South Australian quandong and bush tomatoes from the Territory - and that's just the beginning. On the drinks side there are six different types of bush tea available that manage to impart the natural flavours of the Australian scrub without hard work and acrid smoke of boiling them on a billy.
