Gusto da Gianni melds classic Mediterranean and Italian flavours together with an added dose of flair. While patrons gaze out onto the stunning water vistas, they can choose from a menu liberally dotted with antipasto favourites, as well as pizzas and Italian classics such as linguine allo scoglio - a mixed seafood pasta tossed with olive oil, garlic, chilli and parsley.

Okay, but not memorable.
This was the second time that we have visited Gusto da Gianni. Our first visit was generally very pleasant; hence we decided to visit again. However, this time we were a little disappointed.
The service was very friendly, and generally attentive. There was a large function on, so we were aware that the staff may be caught up with that, but generally that was managed really well. My main concern was with the food. It felt very bland, and processed.
We ordered the crusted olives for entree, which were tasty, but a tad overpriced at $12 for 6. Our main meals were okay, although very plain in presentation and quite ordinary to taste. There was nothing particularly memorable about them. My husband ordered the Lasagne, and I ordered the Veal. Both were okay, but had the potential to be so much better. Dessert was passable. I had the Creme Brulee, but in a very shallow dish and my husband ordered the Affogato, which he was not all that keen on finishing. He thought it was fairly ordinary too. The atmosphere was generally okay.
Perhaps we caught them on a bad night, given that they had a large function going on otherwise. We may visit Gusto da Gianni again but we did also feel that it was somewhat overpriced. It seemed a more reasonably priced the first time we visited a little while ago.
