Students are most often doomed to spend their lunch money on soggy sandwiches and pies, but Griffith University boasts a far more palatable option in G's Wine Bar. Despite being in the university grounds, G's is a worthwhile destination for those outside the academic institution, serving up good quality meals and a range of alcoholic tipples to wash them down. Chef Ben Davis prepares hearty and deceptively simple meals, such as a gravy-drenched chargrilled sirloin; or a wild mushroom risotto with pea puree and truffle oil. These offerings are more gourmet than anything one would usually find at a uni cafe, while the hearty servings make them well worth the more-than-a-sandwich prices.
