Sister store of successful Grill'd in Hawthorn, this no-gimmick burger store offers a healthy incarnation of a fast food favourite. Their trademark 'no drive thru', 'no god damn colonel' and 'no clowns' is boldly painted in red across the outside walls and signature artwork by up-and-coming Melbourne painter Josh Gurrie adorns the inside walls. Mix and match ingredients like roasted peppers, Brie and basil pesto with a range of vegetarian, lean chicken, lamb and beef patties.

Awesome place!
I went to the Fitzroy Grill'd twice while spending a week in Melbourne. This place has unbelievable burgers and chips. You can choose beef/chicken/lamb/vegie burgers and add extras like avocado, pineapple and roasted peppers - awesome! You can not only taste the homemade-ness of the burgers but the quality ingredients Grill'd use.
I had a chicken burger "Bird & Brie" which had cranberry sauce and Brie cheese. Very nice combination. I also tried the Moroccan lamb burger (not every day you can get a lamb burger) and it was tasty, yet light. I also like the idea of choosing your burger bun (wholemeal or while) when placing your order.
As the menu doesn't have set combos (like burger with chips and drink) it is essential that you try the chips. The seasoning is sensational and your taste-buds will thank you for it.
The atmosphere is casual, grab-a-bite before heading for your destination type. A notebook and pencil is placed on each table - feel free to write a message to the chef or read through other people's comments... some will make you giggle. The bathroom in Fitzroy is quite funky with gig posters plastered on walls like wallpaper. Staff are friendly and you'll only wait a short while to get your meal.
Overall I can't wait to go back and have another delicious burger. Open a franchise in Sydney soon - it'll be a success.
