Known to regulars as just "Green Ant", this Mexican-fusion restaurant, bar and live music hub attracts a large student and traveller crowd to its Latino shack locale. Sequestered behind the Cairns Central shopping centre on Bunda Street, Green Ant Cantina flows freely with Mexican beers and tequilas as you'd expect, though it's good to see the range of European beverages on hand as well. The kitchen spices things up a bit, with selections like Corona prawns, Cajun calamari, chilli beef nachos and the famous chunky chips with secret seasoning and coriander lime aioli. Hola!
