Flying into the flourishing Flinders Street dining scene, this unique inner city restaurant combines classic Greek grills with bountiful beers, crafting an intercontinental trip for the tastebuds. Part of the decadent Beer Deluxe complex, Greek Grill lets patrons order international and local beers from downstairs while sharing the best in Greek mezedes and grills. One of Melbourne's highly acclaimed Greek chefs, Christos Katapodis, leads the way in the kitchen with dishes like soutzoukakia (spiced minced beef), the Kotopoulo (chicken souvlaki) and Garides (king prawns saganaki-style with fetta and tomato). Fresh fish comes in daily, ready to be chargrilled and chomped up by avid diners who may choose to sit in the subdued, relaxing indoor area, or outside in the beer garden, with front-on views of Federation Square and the Southbank skyline.

Was not impressed
We got to the Greek Grill and were seated for about 15 minutes before we were given menus. It wasn't busy so there was no real excuse for this. There was no more than 4 tables with people on them at any time. There was 9 of us and we all ordered the "COLOSSUS" set menu. When the starters came out, they were nice but there was not enough bread. We had to ask 2 different waiters for more bread and the starters were cleared from the table before more bread was served. When the mains came out, there were only 6 skewers of meat and 6 of chicken, even though there was 9 of us. The food wasn't very nice and there wasn't even enough for each of us to have our share. Dessets were ordinary and we weren't offered any tea or coffee. We ordered a few soft drinks throughout the meal and had to ask for them multiple times from different waiters. At $55 a head, we left hungry and had to do a "maccas run" on the way home. It was grossly overpriced. A few soft drinks, 6 beers and a glass of wine added $170 to our bill. If I had left the place full and satisfied with the service, I would not have any issue with the prices.

Simple and delicious
Had the perfect dinner at the Greek Grill! Had the saganaki prawns, it was delicious and serving was huge. The service was great without the typical "look at us, aren't we just great?" smarmy fuss...Although I have to point out it was a little difficult to find which was a bit irritating initially but once we got there is was smooth sailing.
