Grandma Funks stands out on Richmond's Swan Street with 1960s-style retro decor: it's a bustling diner decked out in shades of orange, green and red with a hot pink mirror ball. In fine weather, the entire glass frontage is retracted to blend the glowing orange interior with alfresco dining quarters. The woodfired oven makes the mod-Italian dishes particularly fragrant and flavoursome. The menu offers 11 gourmet pizzas, risotti, pasta, focaccias and burgers to stave lunchtime cravings, or try the crispy woodfired nachos served with Grandma's special salsa and house-made guacamole. The daily specials board carries more choices still, as does the drinks menu with organic teas, juices and liqueur coffees. There are 23 wines listed, naughtily named shooters and shakers and 26 cocktails such as the original Lychee Love (Absolut, Paraiso, Chambord, Malibu, pineapple and cranberry). One of the few bars in Melbourne still mixing up a minty-fresh Grasshopper, the grandma of all cocktails!

Funkalicious
There's so many positive attributes to this restaurant, it's hard to know where to begin. The extensive menu boasts something for everyone, from an extensive all day breakfast, to pizzas, to steaks!
The retro style setting ensures an unusual but very inviting ambience, and is appropriate for numerous occasions.
I've visited this restaurant/lounge many times, for a number of different meals, and have never been disappointed! Sunday brunch always proves to be busy, but on a Friday or Saturday night is when I'd really recommend going, so you can make the most of their amazing cocktail list!

Funky and Hip
This place rocks! Delicious food, friendly staff, great atmosphere, funky music! So many choices on the menu we found it hard to decide. My partner had the Cajun Chicken Burger, which did not disappoint either in size or flavour. I had the Pan Fried Gnocchi which was also delicious and filling. Excellent choices of wine, beers and cocktails. Can't wait to test out the brekky menu in the holidays. Love you Grandma - you funky soul!
