"Sport" and "cafe" aren't usually two words that you'll find together, but in the case of GPO's Maximus Sports Cafe, there's a simple explanation: the cafe is housed in a space that becomes the Maximus Sports Bar by night. It's more fun, however, to imagine how this menu might take on a sports twist.
You could, perhaps, choose your meal based on the first letter of your favourite sports team. The breakfast menu would offer Bulldogs fans a bacon and egg toasted sandwich or banana bread, while Collingwood or Carlton lovers could opt for a chocolate croissant. Sydney Swans have their pick of the sandwiches for lunch or a spinach and ricotta quiche. Even if you're not a sports fan, stop in for a treat at any time of day - the chocolate ganache tarts are a crowd favourite.
