Let's get one thing straight: Gotham is first and foremost a bar, but even so the food outstrips that of many of the other places along this strip of Oxford Street.
The decor and cocktails may be modelled strictly on the timeless elegance of New York City, but the food is straight up mod-Oz cuisine with a solid grounding in classical technique. Expect to see an equal share of dishes to quaff wine by (chicken liver parfait, anyone?) and stand-alone dishes that make this place a restaurant in its own right (such as Piedmontese-style gnocchi with chicken, pumpkin, mushrooms and blue cheese).
