Family dinner at a Family restaurant
At the Golden Ox, they really do understand the meaning of family. We decided to celebrate nan's 60th here and throughout the evening I got talking to the owners, Nick and Virginia.
The business has been family owned and operated since 1977, with their son in the kitchen for 10 years now. He is an absolute credit to them, with only the most superb dishes arriving at our table. We all had a corker of a time, and any little orders or requests arrived within minutes.
Nan's favourite part of the Golden Ox is their dessert menu. They are one of the only places to do desserts like the Brandy Snap Cornets and Bombe Alaska, and still doing it incredibly well. She asked in advance for no birthday cake, just so she could order dessert from the OX instead!!
Piano while we sang happy birthday topped it all off. Great place, couldn't recommend it highly enough!

great night
went to the ox for my sisters birthday. they played her happy birthday on the piano and meade her feel special. the staff were great and we all loved our meals. i had the rib on the bone and would highly recommend the ox to anyone.

Perfect wedding venue
My husband and I got married at the Golden Ox last week. Our needs were really catered to. We were after a simple, stylish wedding and that is what we got. We had the ceremony in the wedding gardens and they were beautiful, the decorations looked fabulous and the food was delightful. I would certainly recommend the Golden Ox to others.

Highly Recommended
I don't usually write reviews but I went to The Golden Ox, for the first time, with friends a couple of months ago and I was so impressed I've become a regualar. The food is fantastic, it is always presented perfectly and tastes amazing. The staff are great, always happy and keen to take care of you. This restaurant is a MUST TRY!

Fantastic!! 5 Stars.
I took my wife here for our first date 10 years ago. We are still regulars to this day. Its great to have a restaurant that serves great food so close to home. It takes the hassle out of trying to find a good restaurant. Our friends used to travel into the city for a good meal until they tried the Ox.
