Although it is removed from the hustle and bustle of Chinatown, Golden Globe, with its exceptional yum cha, packs the room with eager regulars every lunchtime. It has the simple decor and relaxed, local atmosphere you'd expect of a suburban yum cha joint, but the service is notably professional and the menu is ambitious, distinctive and utterly delicious. Try the soft-shell crab with ginger and shallots, squid with ginger and chilli, fried school prawns and steamed prawn dumplings. These are traditional seafood dishes honed to perfection, and great value for money at around $25 a head.
