Once a simple milk bar, Gold and Noone has been converted into a funky little cafe that still operates as a milk bar on the side. Old, 1950s-style tables and chairs are strewn throughout, but it's the gold velvet throne-like chairs in the front window that most patrons head for on arrival. Grab the paper or an obliging trash magazine and inhale the scent of freshly baked white chocolate muffins or banana and coconut loaves (that arrive on a plate with your choice of butter or cream!). You can come for a brekkie of bacon and eggs or takeaway pre-made organic sandwiches, soups and stir-fries to heat up at home. With a primary school just across the road, you'll notice it's kids galore at Gold and Noone - it's certainly no accident that the ice cream freezer is always well stocked!
