Gip's Restaurant sits inside the beautiful Clifford House. The main room of the restaurant is located in what was the billiard room of the grand old home, and the restaurant itself is named after the first owner's dog, Gip. Rain or shine, summer or winter, Gip's offers indoor and outdoor seating: clear awnings are rolled up or down depending on the weather and gas heaters are deployed throughout the garden in the cooler months. During the day, the cafe-style menu offers sandwiches, wraps, burgers and more substantial fare like the Bangalow sweet pork salad with Asian greens, crispy noodles, ginger, chilli and caramel dressing. When the sun goes down, the restaurant puts on its glad rags, offering a stylish atmosphere and seasonal menu. Appetising meals include the Moreton bay bug ravioli, the house-made potato gnocchi, and the pan-seared fresh fish of the day.

family occasion
We came up to see my folks for the first time in ages and wanted to go somewhere nice. We weren't disappointed in the slightest with our dinner at Gip's. The menu was interesting and obviously used great fresh ingredients. The service was friendly and professional and the setting is really charming. We're definitely going back when we're next in town.

Worth the trip to Toowoomba
Read an old review on Gip's but decided to see for ourselves. We had a wonderful night - everything was great and we would thoroughly recommend you give this restaurant a try. The setting and surroundings are beautiful, the staff, food and service top class.

Needs Service Help
Have regularly eaten here over the years and they always do a beautiful job. Food is imaginative, fresh and very reasonably priced for the standard that is presentated. Like all restaurants in Toowoomba the service is what is holding Gips back, no staff know anything about the menu, always have to ask what the daily specials are and have to hunt staff down for table service. As I said this is an issue that Toowoomba has everywhere I have eaten. Words cannot describe the gorgeous location and surrounds of Gips, sweeping gardens of jacaranda's and beautiful old world building, really, really lovely.
