In 1867 a food store was established on this East Melbourne site. It's been a few things in between, but is now a cafe servicing this heavily residential area. Open every day, it specialises in fresh and hearty breakfasts and lunches - they don't believe in small serves. For breakfast, the Bircher muesli with fresh fruit salad is a masterpiece of taste and looks fantastic. There is outside seating for warmer days. This unassuming corner cafe has a strong, loyal following that patiently wait for breakfast and lunch every day.

Horrible Service and Poor Coffee
I have been visiting the shop for the last two years regularly because of their great coffee quality. For the last 2-3 months, however, I have encountered a few occasions where the quality of coffee (By the guy who serves on weekdays) became poor. Today, I was completely pissed off by the worst possible service that one could receive. Despite their number system, they forgot to bring muffin to me and then after waiting for 15-20 minutes when I went to her, she asks: "Would you like to have here or take-away" - And yes more importantly without apologising to me! They are not so extraordinary coffee-maker either. I am surely not going to visit here ever!
