Restaurant Information
Gemelle
With its white-clothed tables, ornate sculptures and mirrors and extensive racks of wines, Gemelle Ristorante Italiano is one good-looking diner. But as most of us know, you can't rely on good looks alone - and that's why this Liverpool gem ensures that your focus sits squarely on the food. Following a traditional path with a few modern twists, Gemelle's menu includes bruschettas, pizzettas, pizzas, pastas, risottos, parmigianas, salads, steaks and fish and veal specialties. If you're out to celebrate with a large group, Gemelle offers a bunch of well-priced set menus.

Shame about the service
I had heard rave reviews from locals, so I had always wanted to try Gemelle. It's a shame I had such a bad time because the food was quite delicious. Upon arrival, the waitress took our drinks requests. I ordered a Hahn Premium. I received a Hahn Light. That's ok, I could have lived with that. My wife then orders the Rib Eye Steak. The waiter served her the Lamb Cutlets. It was a wrong order, but delicious, so we could live with that. The waitress then proceeded to deliver a glass of water ordered by the table next to us, but charged to our bill also. This was fixed, but we were becoming frustrated. The killer was while eating my Banana Pudding, I had to pull a large fibrous item (which I immediately thought was hair) from my mouth. I was informed it was from a pastry brush, and told the item would be taken off our bill. It wasn't. So while I can state that the food was great, if the service could step up and cease making so many poor mistakes then Gemelle could become a top class (and much needed) restaurant in Liverpool.
